Rated 90 Points and Gold at the 2018 San Diego Intl. Wine Competition, the 2014 Reserve Cinquain is a beautiful blend of 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Petit Verdot, 17% Malbec, 17% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. This wine is very rich and complex. You’ll smell dates, dark ripe plums, tobacco and crème de cacao. Taste mocha and tobacco flavors supported by a firm structure with a lingering finish. It is 100% estate-grown and bottled and aged in a mixture of French, American and Hungarian oak. Each variety was aged on its own for 18 months. The blend was then created and aged for an additional 12 months in the same barrels for 30 full months on oak. This extra time allows for additional concentration of the fruit, fine tannins and firm structure that can be enjoyed now and over the next 5 to 10 years. 150 cases produced. List price is $70.
